There is a huge government run tent camp with cottages and rooms run by GMVN. These are enough to accommodate over a thousand pilgrims and visitors. There are also hotels, guesthouses and Dharamshala. As many people started their journey by helicopter, the location will be Fatah, Rampur, Gaurikund, Sitapur, etc.
Best place to eat
Unfortunately the only options for decent food here are from roadside stalls and dhaba. The food is mainly North Indian cuisine. Of course, given that Kedarnath is a highly revered place in Hinduism, it should come as no surprise that alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not served/prohibited.
Considerations
